Don’t be afraid to reach out.
Highlight: “Do not be afraid to email the CEO of your company, or the CEO of a company that you admire, and ask for a couple of minutes. I have done that throughout my career and have found the guidance, advice, and heads up that I've gotten in those moments has been truly career impacting.” - Chauncey Wesley
Keep your meetings.
Highlight: “The one-on-one is the time that the team can actually bounce things off of you. And if you don't make the time, then it just festers and sits with someone. And you could ultimately end up losing someone because they're frustrated and haven't been able to solve the problem.” - Chauncey Wesley
Work together to create a solution.
Highlight: “My style is more about listening and making sure I am understanding what people's problems, issues, and concerns are, and addressing them as they come up. I’m always making sure that my team knows that they have an ear that will listen to them; that when they speak, it is justified and understood, and there's empathy. And that while we may not have the answers right away, we will work to get to a solution as fast and wholly as possible.” - Chauncey Wesley
Stay dedicated, determined, and dependable.
Highlight: “You want your leader to be someone who is dedicated to you, dedicated to the cause. Dependable—someone that you can call on at all hours of the night if need be, knowing that they are there for you and there to help you. And determined, that there's a goalpost that you're shooting for, there's a roadmap that they have a plan for and that they're bringing you along with.” - Chauncey Wesley
Chauncey’s passion for teamwork and authenticity is changing what it means to be a great leader. For more inspirational content, check out the Pass the Mic page.
