If you’re ready to get inspired, listen to Kim’s full interview below.
Don’t overthink.
Highlight: “Don't overthink. I think, especially as women, we tend to go… ‘Oh my gosh, I can't believe I said that.’ And over think it and over think it… We need to stop doing that. We are our own worst critics.” - Kim Davis
Show balance and support.
Highlight: “I think it's scary sometimes when we have leadership that people look at, and they think, ‘God, I would hate that. Their life looks miserable.’ People don't think that they seem happy. I really try to make sure that I show balance, support, love, and an openness to create a safe space where people can do their best work, get really good stuff done, but still feel comfortable.” - Kim Davis
Create a team vision.
Highlight: “It has to be a team vision. A lot of it comes down to trust—and that comes down to integrity a lot of the time. Actually doing what you say you're going to do will create that trust that the teams will want to be a part of.” - Kim Davis
Be open to change.
Highlight: “Be open to change and learning. I try to always be a student. So, I’m taking in everything from leaders that I come around or anything that's going on in normal day-to-day life that I want to learn from. And I want to adjust how I'm treating people and how I'm leading people. And sometimes it’s feedback and sometimes it's just a natural organic shift. And being able to change.” - Kim Davis
Change is imminent. Staying open, balanced, and clear-minded can help us to become better leaders like Kim. If you’re ready to hear more inspiring words, check out the Pass the Mic page.
