Find where you shine.
Highlight: “Every fiber of us wants to own everything. And it is not realistic. So where do we shine? What's the 10% (respectively) that we know we can own, we can lead, and be inspirational. Then build a bond with people, bring people together and trust the team to cover the 90% to make us whole. Embody the 10% entrepreneur mentality. This is something that I really try to be disciplined and intentional about. We can all play a role in achieving success, but we start by identifying the areas that we know we can absolutely own.” - Rosabel Murai
Bring diverse perspectives into the room.
Highlight: “Diversity is critical because (when you have diverse voices in the room) you start to learn different perspectives. The most incredible ideas are the ones that are unexpected. Having diverse perspectives in the room really allows us to be more empathetic and authentic. In today’s world, we are seeing more disloyalty (to brands) than ever. Consumers gravitate to brands when they feel they can relate and they feel represented” - Rosabel Murai
Give honest feedback.
Highlight: “Being an honest leader and manager is incredibly important. Managers have a responsibility to provide honest feedback for the growth of their direct reports and team. The downstream (and long-term) affect can be detrimental with residual impact to the team. Feedback is a gift and we have to embrace both the positive and areas of growth.” - Rosabel Murai
Build your network.
Highlight: “Build your network. You are only as strong as your network. Be intentional, make connections, and remember to stay connected. When someone offers help, take those opportunities. It’s important to remember, when you reach a certain level in your career, it’s challenging to land your next gig by submitting applications or resumes online. Most of these roles are getting filled by referrals and personal introductions. You’ll get ahead of the 1000s of candidates, because your network is pulling you in, your community is connecting you.” - Rosabel Murai
